What a wonderful week it has been thanks to our generous donors, hosts, vendors, and artists!

BoobieThon has been quite fortunate to have the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people from all over the globe.  This year, as you may recall, we have expanded the 'thon to two weeks for a variety of reasons.  This has offered us the chance to expand the number of events and locations - sometimes quite spontaneously!

Thus far the events have been as follows:

Opening Night in the Garden of the Fæ - Hosted by Eva Bellambi with music from Icarus Ghost

Otenth Paderborn generously added BoobieThon to his normal Terpsicore Tuesday event on Day 2 of the BoobieThon.  We are so grateful for this spontaneous event and the generosity and caring of those in attendence.

On Wednsday, Magdalena Kamenev hosted and provided music for Salome's Dance at the Blue Mermaid in Caledon on Sea.  What a fantastic night it was!  Everyone in attendance was in great spirits and many shared stories about how breast cancer has effected their lives.

On Thursday evening, the Poetry Slam at der Hut held a breast-themed night.  It was great fun according to all in attendance and it helped push the dollars-raised up even higher.

Friday was a busy evening which began with the placement of the Venus di Milo from last year's art auction at the Consulate gardens in New Toulouse. Music provided by Radio Riel

The party then moved to the Steelhead Ballroom where we all celebrated life in shades of pink.  Over $75,000L were raised at this particular event!!  Many thanks to Lunar, Tensai, and Fuzzball for hosting and providing the music.

Well the Isle of Skye was certainly alive on February 27th - alive with music, but also alive with the many and diverse persons present for the event celebrating the film, Moulin Rouge.

The event was themed on the Baz Luhrmann film and was fantastically well attended and incredibly interactive and fun. The build was phenomenal thanks to my co-creators, Lady Kate Nicholas (who worked diligently with me to set most of the scene) and Mr. Iason Hassanov (for the Eiffel Tower). DJ Icarus Ghost blew everyone away with his remarkable playlist which included many original tracks (the inspiration for the movie soundtrack).

Pictures being worth thousands, I will share with you the evidence of a great event. Let's do it again sometime, 'k?

Traveling in Musical Time at the Snowflake Ball

As the excitement continues to grow for my annual Snowflake Ball, I am becoming very excited about the theme that was chosen this year:

DANCING IN TIME

At the appointed hour we will all step out onto the ballroom floor, which is covered in snow (yes, this event is usually held outside). Is this indeed the grand ballroom of Caisteal Teanacadh or is it some wonderful place inside a Tardis in this Steampunk world of ours?

We are pleased to find that we recognize the faces of friends, neighbors, acquaintances, but something seems to be a bit askew. Not everyone is in the dress of the Victorian era. Some are dressed in garb more appropriate to the middle ages or the age of enlightenment. Some are in futuristic looking robes - not unlike we have seen during our time travel into the 21st Century. All are, however, formally attired and ready to dance and dance.

The orchestra this year has also been doing some time travel. I am told by our orchestral conductor, that Time Lord, Mr. Icarus Ghost (who appeared on the Caledon scene a little over a year ago having regenerated from his old self, Zenigma Suntzu) that the music mix has been inspired by his travels through space and time.

As I have stated previously we will work our way through musical eras from the 12th century to the 21st century. A bit of a twist that I believe you will enjoy is that some of the music we will hear are futuristic interpretations of the works.

While the etiquette of the ball will be quite formal & Victorian, our fashions, our music, and our dances will be an eclectic mix of past, present, and future.
