Midsummer Naughty and Nice

Quite a few social activities this past weekend here in this little corner of the Metaverse.

Friday night found me in Steelhead for the Lord of the Rings themed dance followed by a great time in Winterfell at The Green Fairy dancing with Miss Serra and many other friends. (There was also a very interesting trivia quiz. *smiles wickedly* Alas I have no pictures from those events. I have no excuse really...I just didn't take any. I did, however, get a few shots in my Shieldmaiden of Rohan look (minus the blond hair) whilst trying out my newest airship (try not to be too jealous) - a gift from Lady Kate Nicholas. This sweet thing is full mod and I look forward to personalizing the ship to suit my adventurous desires.

Saturday was a very busy time in RL, but I was able to pop into the Midsummer Rave in Shengri-La. I had not been there in some time, and it was nice to see a few friends from IBM as well as Shenlei and Rez.

The view from the skies. So beautiful.

And finally last night after a very happy and successful Father's Day celebration in RL, I attended the fabulous naughty and nice Rez Day celebration of Miss Lumina of Steelhead. Grand good fun!

So many events - so little time to blog (Part the second)

Some travels farther afield now. I have over the last week or so spent some time exploring the Metaverse with another adventurous soul, one of my knights in the Order if the Red Rose, Sir Telemachus. I never fear when I am traveling outside of Caledon in his company as his prowess on the fields of battle is well known and his quiet strength is obvious to anyone.

Very early last week Tele and I went exploring (for a very short time) in Metatheria. It is on my list of places to return to when I have the chance. We barely made a start on the first trail before other obligations called me away. The picture below, however, seems to give you a good idea of the beauty of this place.

Sitting beside the stream in a lovely swing. I really should find one of these for the Loch.

A few days ago, Sir Tele decided to get his new Destrier out of the stables and asked whether Bucephalus and I would care to ride along. I told him that I had recently been in Shengri La and that the trails there were quite challenging and the surroundings - beautiful. We decided to make the trip over the course of a couple of days. Below are the photographs taken as we traversed the Shengri La regions.

Sir Tele astride his new horse, who is yet to be named.

As we rode along the shore, we spotted a water spout and went to investigate. We discovered the resident whale, who was singing to us - or perhaps for his mate - as we watched him swim easily in the bay. How remarkable!

On our next ride, we were dressed in the more modern fashion of the mainland. I admit that the blue jeans are very comfortable for riding. This picture was taken at the head of the trail leading into the mountains.

Overlook at sunset.

We ended our ride at the top of the trail watching the eagle circle around us. I commented that I hoped we had not disturbed her too much if there was a nest nearby.

Exploration and Peace

It has been some time since I have really left the shores of Caledon for any real exploration. While my time last evening was brief, my appetite is once again whetted for adventure.

Whilst out last evening in Shengri La, my good friend, Shenlei Flasheart's new project with Dr. Rez Tone and several others, I discovered a wonderful shoreline and found myself sitting there enjoying the peace and quiet. I was most pleasantly surprised to have Shenlei find me and to have the time to sit and chat for a while.

I inquired about the nature trail that she mentioned as I have been intending to get Bucephalus out to stretch his legs for some time now. The poor thing has only been exercised by the grooms lately, and of course, loves to run the Loch. He and Nellie have developed a rather nice relationship seeming to enjoy one another's company as one swims near shore and the other runs near the water.

As we walked to the head of the trail, we stopped to admire the Destriers in their paddocks. Beautiful beasts! Perfect for a dear friend of mine, I stated. (I may have to return and inquire after one of these gorgeous creatures.) Just as I was getting ready to start a short walk of the trail, Dr. Tone cantered up on his own fine horse. At Shenlei's suggestion he graciously agreed to take me on the trail himself. The terrain is quite remarkable, and the horses did very well all along the way through snow-capped mountains and warm tide pools as we wound our way through Shengri La Love, Peace, and Joy.

See for yourselves...

Just gorgeous!

To the shore. Rez and I sit astride our horses as we look over the ocean. The lovely tea house in the background.

Here there be whales!! (and dolphins, and fish, and many other interesting creatures)

Sitting in the fading sunlight....finding peace.

Truly a wonderful place to explore, with many hidden treasures to be found. And the best part? The peace found by the end of the ride.
