Memories of Santas & Shotguns
A Wicked Fun Time at Hotspur O'Toole's 3rd Rez Day party!! Many thanks to DJ Freq! for the fantastical playlist and to the Boys in the Backroom (Murakami and Huszar) for the Reindeer skeet shooting game. And thanks to everyone who join us for the silliness - you made the party what it was. :-D

We had a wonderful time dancing, battling, and having all kinds of silly fun while Frequency played an ecclectic and excellent list of music!
Our often shy trio of shipbuilders, MrBunwah, Justinian, and Nowwer (who is usually the silent partner) even seemed to have a great time showcasing their toy ironclads, blowing things up, and (gasp!) even dancing. :)
Many more years of success to you, young gents!!

After posing for some pictures for Boobie-Thon (images of me and Miss Serra to be seen at a later date :-D ) last night, I made my way to Steelhead and the Hobo Roller Disco Party hosted by Frequency Picnic and Hotspur O' Toole. It was a great time!
I went for a Farrah-like look (that was some BIG hair) and was surrounded by hobos, jaegers, furries, and other humanoids all dressed in flowers, swirls, and plaids. Lots of Afros to be found...but even more fun.
It was a pleasure to have the lovely Callipygian Christensen drop by towards the end of the night, too. I had not seen her in such a long time.

The Lake of the Dismal SwampJoin ZATZAi Asturias in Lilliput Great Dismal on April 18th from 5pm-7pm SLT. DJ Frequency Picnic will be spinning Zydeco, Dixieland, southern rock, and a variety of other tunes. We'll be dancing in the cemetery and touring the gorgeous sim.
"They made her a grave too cold and damp
For a soul so warm and true;
And she's gone to the Lake of the Dismal Swamp,
Where all night long, by a firefly lamp,
She paddles her white canoe.
And her firefly lamp I soon shall see,
And her paddle I soon shall hear;
Long and moving our life shall be
And I'll hide the maid in a cypress tree,
When the footstep of death is near."
Away to the Dismal Swamp he speeds,
His path was rugged and sore,
Through tangled juniper, beds of reeds,
Through many a fen where the serpent feeds,
And man never trod before.
And when on the earth he sank to sleep,
If slumber his eyelids knew,
He lay where the deadly vine doth weep
Its venemous tear, and nightly steep
The flesh with blistering dew!
And near him the she-wolf stirr'd the brake,
And the copper-snake breathed in his ear,
Till he starting cried, from his dream awake,
"Oh when shall I see the dusky Lake,
And the white canoe of my dear?"
He saw the Lake, and a meteor bright
Quick over its surface play'd,
"Welcome," he said, "my dear one's light!"
And the dim shore echo'd for many a night
The name of the death-cold maid.
Till he hollow'd a boat of the birchen bark,
Which carried him off from the shore;
Far, far he follow'd the meteor spark,
The wind was high and the clouds were dark,
And the boat return'd no more.
But oft, from the Indian hunter's camp,
This lover and maid so true
Are seen at the hour of midnight damp
To cross the Lake by a firefly lamp,
And paddle their white canoe!

I was pleased to have been asked to assist in the coordination and planning of the Founder's Day events in Artificial Isle (Ai).
The event was to have been simply a fun party held in the Oceanside area of Ai filled with music and laughter. We had a live musician, harpo Jedburgh, for the first hour of the celebration.

AFRICA
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodiesHe turned to me as if to say, hurry [girl], its waiting there for youToto

Thousands of years ago, Egyptian Queen Hatchupset was given an amulet by her Royal Wizard. This amulet empowered the queen with the powers of the goddess Isis; to command the elements of sky and earth. Flash forward to present time (1970's that is) young science teacher Andrea Thomas found this lost amulet while on an archaeological dig. She found she was heir to the "Secrets of Isis." By bearing the necklace that had the amulet, and calling out the phrase "OH MIGHTY ISIS," Andrea was transformed into Isis. As Isis, she could "soar as the falcon soars, run with the speed of gazelles, and command all the elements of sky and earth." In order to invoke her powers, she had to recite incantations. Her most famous incantation - "Oh zephyr winds which blow on high, lift me now so I can fly" - assisted her in taking flight. She also had control of animals, fire, water, etc. Her powers were usually used to help teach young people she came in contact with, a moral lesson. Her associates, Rick Mason, Cindy Lee, Dr. Barnes, and later, Rennie Carroll, were oblivious to her dual identity.
Sunset in AfricaHurry Boy! She's waiting there for you
Its gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
Theres nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

I sprang from the piste to see what was the matter.
Miss Frequency as a pirate and I in me gown had just settled in for a long fencing match.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear but a large blue Tardis falling out of thin air?
Away to the ETC I flew like a flash, tore open the lock with one mighty slash.
(apologies to Clement Clarke Moore)
Frequency and I were minding our own business and getting in some fencing practice at Upstairs one evening when suddenly a strange, loud noise startled us and I turned to see a large blue phone box hovering behind us.
We both jumped off the piste and went to examine the thing - really not the strangest thing we had ever seen in SL - and were entirely expecting to find Miss Terry or Oolon climbing from the machine when we opened the door. But we were very wrong.
As I opened the door, Hotspur fell out of the machine and onto the deck. He seemed to be unconscious, and as we provided first aid to him, I noted that his oxygen tank was empty. No wonder the man had fainted.
We opened his helmet and ensured that he was getting fresh Caledonian air - Lord knows where the Tardis had taken him. As soon as he began to rouse, we sat him up and handed him some Water of Life. Thus fortified, he began to tell us his amazing story.
Unsure what to make of it all, I decided that we needed to go collect more scientific and anecdotal information. Quite frankly as head of MI5, I also felt the need to ensure that whatever had sent the Tardis to Hotspur - essentially inviting him to visit - did not also have plans to send an invasion force to the shores of our fair Independent State.

High above Caledon Middlesea, on Friday night just passed, we celebrated the first year of Frequency Picnic's Second Life. It was a most un-Victorian party, which is quite fantastic on occasion. Being that we were 600 meters up, we were free to celebrate as it pleased the Rez Day Girl. Hotspur O'Toole extended and decorated his party deck Upstairs and the party space was created.
